Microsoft deploys Internet Explorer 8 Beta 1

microsoftIt is been widely reported online that Microsoft have made available the new version of Internet Explorer for beta testing. The new version, Internet Explorer 8 Beta 1, is only available to a select invited testers. In an email put up on ActiveWin, an active Windows community, it goes on and say that the public beta testing will be available soon.

A lot of details about Internet Explorer 8 is being kept quite except for the “standards switch” meta tag that will allow web sites to be seen in standards-compliant mode or in a non standards-compliant way. This  meta tag has got developers talking, but Microsoft argue that making Internet Explorer 8 a standards-compliant ONLY browser will seclude and shut out old non standards-compliant web sites. It makes sense some how, what do you think?
