Google finally get DoubleClick

googleThe European Commission have finally approved the acquisition of DoubleClick by Google with no conditions attached saying they did not see this move would marginalise competitors as there are many alternatives in the display ads market.

DoubleClick is an online display ads company that also provide  ad serving and management technology to advertisers, web publishers and ad agencies as well.

This news will for sure be another stab in the heart for Microsoft and Yahoo. With Google already having the lions share of the search advertising market, the addition of DoubleClick will put in a strong position on all fronts.

“We are thrilled that our acquisition of DoubleClick has closed. With DoubleClick, Google now has the leading display ad platform, which will enable us to rapidly bring to market advances in technology and infrastructure that will dramatically improve the effectiveness, measurability and performance of digital media for publishers, advertisers and agencies, while improving the relevance of advertising for users.”
