April Fools: Random Jokes and Pranks on the Web
Yes people its April Fools day and there has been has pranks and jokes going on the internet at random. Some of them are believable, funny and hilarious; then some are just plain stupid and lame.
Here are just a few of them I came across on my favourite sites and stood out:
- on whatever video link you click on YouTube (1st April), you are directed to Rick Astley’s classic video song “Never Gonna Give You Up” (check video below) instead of the video link you clicked. A term known as RickRolling.
- Darren Rowse from ProBlogger almost had his readers and followers on Twitter after he announced that he is launching a service called PayPerTweet (ala PayPerPost) that pays Twitter users to Tweet about products, services and websites. Then cue an avalanche of different reactions from commentators featuring all types of emotions.
- Michael Arrington causing hysteria all over the internet when he wrote a post saying that Why We are Suing Facebook for $25 Million in Statutory Damages. This one was much believable and he had me until the last paragraph at the end. Nevertheless funny thou.
Check them out yourself and tell me what you think.
